If you want to build a barn or chicken coop for your farm, you must first visit the carpenter's shop to order its construction. To build a small chicken coop (which can hold up to 6 hens and roosters) you'll need at least 10 feet of open room for it to be built, 3,000G to purchase it, and 15 pieces of lumber. When you first get it built, the local farm will donate a single hen to help you get started, along with five sacks of chicken feed. To build a small barn (which can hold up to 8 cows, bulls, horses, sheep, goats, and pigs) you'll need at least 30 feet of open land, 6,000G to purchase it, and 30 pieces of lumber. When you first get it built, the local farm will donate a single female cow to help you get started, along with five sacks of fodder.
